The beginning of Team 1322

   In the beginning the year was 2000 there was a team 471 The Fenton Cyber Tigers. Jason joined the team with his dad Joe and later his mom Kim joined to help with fund raising. We helped with the team and proceeded though to the next year. Joe did the electrical wiring and Kim continued with fund raising and Jason enjoyed the robot build. Eric was not on the team but hung around and watched. In 2000 the team went to The Great Lakes Regional and also went to Disney for the finals. In 2001 The team also repeated the same schedule. In 2002 The team also repeated the same schedule and Kim Joe, Jason, Eric worked hard with the team. At the end of 2002 The teacher was unable to continue with the robotics program and the school was going to shut down the program but Kim And Joe went to the school and asked if we could continue it, they thought that the program was too important to close it. With approval Kim and Joe kept the program going. They were able to go to Lear Corporation and get funding for the 2003 season. They also were able to apply for a grant from NASA which allowed them to go to the Cleveland competition. They attended the Great lakes Regional and the Finals In Huston Texas. They also got involved with the Kettering Kick off in the fall and attended that as well with a total of four competitions. Unfortunately their was a disagreement with the school on how issues with a troubled student was to be handled and the program was closed. With this the students and parents were very upset with the school and ask Kim and Joe to keep the program going. So they did agree and started the program out of their house in a 9 x 12 room in the basement. That was the beginning of the G.R.A.Y.T. Leviathons Team 1322.
